Stretch Mark Surgery
Abdomnioplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, is an option for women who have severe stretch marks or have had multiple pregnancies. Some people's bodies simply get much more serious and noticeable stretch marks than others. For these women, and people who have had multiple babies, a tummy tuck may be something to consider. However, the operation is expensive and carries risks like any other surgery. Keep in mind that this procedure will leave a scar that can be large and noticeable. However, if done well it can be much less noticeable than the stretch marks it removes.
What is involved?
A tummy tuck is a surgery, do not think of it as a minor cosmetic procedure. Some doctors will administer full anesthesia (give you drugs to make you unconscious). There is always a risk involved when you "go under" for an operation. Some surgeons will give you local anesthesia and a painkiller or sedative to make you more relaxed. An incision is made, and a large section of the abdominal skin is completely removed. Discuss with a plastic surgeon to find out exactly how they will perform the procedure.
How Much Does A Tummy Tuck Cost?
This is the most expensive option to deal with stretch marks, and is usually only available to wealthy individuals and those featured on Fox Reality shows... Costs can be $6,000 or more for an operation such as this.
